A warm sitz soak is the oldest comfort measure there is, and it is still the one people come back to. We made ours because the drugstore version came in a jar that ran out in a week.
Warm water, a tablespoon of salt, and ten to fifteen minutes. Most people use it at the end of the day, when the soreness has had all day to build.
