The Best Bath Salts For Skin Care

There is nothing like a nice hot bath to soothe the soul. However, if you suffer from dry or sensitive skin, a bath may only irritate or dry out your skin. Thankfully, certain bath salts are great for improving the health of your skin.

Fine Bath Salt

Fine Bath Salt is named for its small grain size and can be easily blended with herbs and powers. Due to it's small size, this bath salt is often recommended for facial and body scrubs for being much less abrasive on sensitive skin.

Though some facial or body scrubs come with fine bath salt, you can easily make your own from the salt. You simply mix the bath salt with a little water and mix it until it has a nice thick texture. You then lightly scrub it on to your face or body. You may use a wash cloth to do so, but using your own hands can work just as easily. After wards, you can simply rinse off the mixture with warm water and pat yourself dry with a towel.

Dead Sea Bath Salt

As the name implies, Dead Sea bath salts come directly from the Dead Sea. The sea salts made from the Dead Sea differ greatly from other sea salts when it comes to mineral content. Dead Sea bath salts are only 8% salt and are mostly made up of magnesium, sulfates, and potassium. This is what gives Dead Sea bath salts such beneficial qualities.

Dead Sea bath salts are commonly used as treatment for dry skin conditions like psoriasis and eczema. You simply mix a small hand full of these salts into your bath water and allow yourself to soak up the minerals. The high mineral content of this bath salt is often credited with the cleansing and detoxification of the skin.

Epsom Salt

Unlike Dead Sea bath salts, Epsom salts is not what the name implies. Epsom salts are not salts at all, but instead is a mineral compound of magnesium sulfate in a crystallized form. However, due to its form, Epsom salt does look a lot like salt.

Epsom salt has proven to be beneficial in several ways from aiding digestive problems to easing joint pain. However, it is also great for your skin as well. Simply grab a small handful of Epsom salt and mix it into your bath water. Then you can just hop right in and soak up the benefits.
