The Best Bath Salts For Skin Care

Posted by on

There is nothing like a nice, hot bath to soothe the soul. However, if you have dry or sensitive skin, a bath may only irritate or dry it out even more.

Thankfully, certain bath salts are great for improving the health of your skin.

Fine Bath Salt

Fine bath salt is named for its small grain size, which allows it to be easily blended with herbs and powders. It is often recommended as a facial and body scrub as it is less abrasive on sensitive skin than other bath salts.

Though some facial or body scrubs come with fine bath salt, you can easily make your own version of those products.

Simply add a bit of water to the salt, and mix it until it has a thick consistency. You can then lightly scrub it onto your face or body.

You may use a washcloth in doing so, but using your bare hands is just as effective. Afterward, rinse off the mixture with warm water, and pat yourself dry with a towel.

Dead Sea Bath Salt

As its name implies, this bath salt comes directly from the Dead Sea. It differs greatly from other sea salts when it comes to mineral content.

Dead Sea bath salt is only 8% salt and is mostly made up of magnesium, sulfates, and potassium. That combination is what gives it such beneficial qualities.

To use Dead Sea bath salt, pour a small handful of it into your bath water and allow yourself to soak up its goodness for several minutes. This type of bath salt is often associated with cleansing and detoxifying the skin.

Pure Epsom Salt

Epsom salt is not salt at all but is instead a mineral compound of magnesium sulfate in a crystallized form. However, due to its appearance, it looks a lot like your typical salt.

Epsom salt has proven to be beneficial in several ways, from inducing relaxation to relieving stress. However, it is great for your skin as well.

Get a cup or two of epsom salt and pour it into your bathwater. Spending 15-20 minutes in the tub will do you a world of good.

You can also try our Dry Skin Bath Soak, which is a balanced blend of epsom salt and pure essential oils of lavender and geranium. Visit our online store today for more bath salt options.
