DIY Products You Can Create With Epsom Salt

Posted by on

We will probably never get tired of using epsom salt for our baths, but we love using it for other things too. This is because this versatile, all-natural wonder offers numerous benefits.

The good news? It’s an inexpensive ingredient that you can use to enjoy a spa-like experience right in the comfort of your own home.

Wondering what are the other things you can do with epsom salt? Read on to find out.

DIY Face Exfoliant

Epsom salt can do wonders for your skin. Its texture allows it to gently slough off dead skin cells in a gentle manner.

Instead of purchasing exfoliants, you can simply add ½ teaspoon of epsom salt to your regular cleanser. Use this to wash your face at least twice a week to see results.

DIY Body Scrub

Getting ready for summer? Epsom salt can help you get that glowing skin you’ve always wanted.

Make your own body scrub using epsom salt and coconut oil. Simply mix about a cup of coconut oil with half a cup of epsom salt.

Spread the scrub on your body to leave your skin feeling soft and smooth.

DIY Foot Scrub

If you’ve got cracked heels but want softer and smoother feet, epsom salt can do wonders for you too. Yes, you can use epsom salt to soak your feet, but you can also create your own foot scrub for a more intense treatment.

Just mix ½ cup of epsom salt with ⅛ cup of olive oil and use it to scrub your feet.

DIY Bath Bomb

Are you looking to get creative or are you thinking of making something that you can give as a gift? Try making a bath bomb.

You’ll need ½ cup epsom salt, 1 cup baking soda, ½ cup citric acid, 2 tablespoons coconut oil, a spray bottle with water, and natural food coloring.

You can start by coloring your salts. You can use as many as three to five colors if you want. Just let the salts sit as they soak the coloring. The more drops you use, the more intense the color will become.

Mix the baking soda and citric acid. Add the coconut oil while stirring. Make sure to get rid of any lumps. Then add the colored epsom salt and fill your mold.

Let the bath bombs sit for a few hours before taking them out of the mold.
